Art direction, concept and editorial design for Kunstkammer, a brand new annual magazine for curious minds.

This publication embraces the concept of the cabinet of curiosities. As the name suggests, cabinets of curiosities aimed to capture and define new knowledge of the world, prizing anything rare, unusual or unique. Rulers and scientists of Renaissance Europe in particular used their cabinets of curiosities, which contained objects from around the globe and the scientific disciplines, to symbolize their control of the world and their place at the forefront of knowledge. What do you think would be in a Kunstkammer of today?

This project was developed during my postgraduate studies in photography and editorial design at EINA School of Design and Art of Barcelona.

Who is the Kunstkammer reader?

Naturally curious people, willing to explore new ideas and seeking to understand the environment around them. They are often driven by a sense of wonder and the desire to incorporate new knowledge. Curiosity can manifest itself in many different ways, from asking questions to looking for new experiences and information. Above all, the reader is an exploratory character who is open-minded, engaged, and always seeking to expand his understanding of the world.

Special thanks to Edith Stone for the creative mentorship during the whole design process of this publication and to Dolors Soriano for providing me guide and invaluable insights for the editorial production.
