With this poster, I took part in the initiative Posters x Gaza, organized by the Association of Graphic Design and Visual Communication of Barcelona (ADG-FAD), in collaboration with Médecins Sans Frontières Spain, and with the support of Unión Papelera and Agpograf Impressors.

Conceived as a humanitarian initiative, the project channels design into action, raising funds through the creation and sale of selected works presented at Disseny Market Barcelona, held from December 12 to 14, 2025.

The poster engages in dialogue with PF Aljamal, a typeface designed by Hasan Abu Afash, a renowned Palestinian designer based in Gaza, who has been leading Hiba Studio since 2007.

The text featured in the poster takes the form of a poetic remembrance, a quiet reflection on a city that once was. Written in both English and Arabic, it evokes the traces of everyday life, memory, and loss that still echo among the ruins. Its words follow the lines of the destroyed streets, transforming memory into visual form.

And here, there was a city. Beyond, a school. In front, a square where children used to play. There was also a hospital, and every morning the birds sang, they had always been free.

The sun rose over the sea of Shati, and with its light came the first adhan. The market was on the other side, filled with voices ready to begin the day.

Life was simple, but it was worth living. Now the wind wanders through those streets, as if it still remembers the murmur of the day.

And here, there was a city.
